Last Sunday, TK Sparta in Prague proudly hosted the Joola Pickleball Tour for the very first time. This well-known tennis complex, now home to four brand-new outdoor pickleball courts, is nestled beside the beautiful Stromovka Park – a perfect setting for a full day of competition.

Organized by the Czech Pickleball Association, the tournament drew 75 entries from 55 participants and featured a full lineup of events across multiple categories, with both Open divisions and a DUPR 7.5 combined rating bracket.

The action kicked off with the men’s singles, followed by the women’s singles, then transitioned into doubles play, including the 50+ Open category. As the temperature rose, so did the intensity on the courts. The afternoon saw some incredibly close matches in both the men’s and women’s doubles, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats – or in some cases, lounging comfortably with lunch from a nearby restaurant, cheering on the competitors.

It was a long day, with the final medals awarded just after 8 PM. Safe to say, everyone went home with great memories, a little more experience, and maybe a bit of sunburn to prove it!

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and made this a truly special day for the pickleball community in Prague and beyond.
