The very first Prague Pickleball Derby took place on October 25, marking a new tradition in Czech pickleball: team vs. team competition in a Major League Pickleball (MLP) style format!
Two powerhouse squads –Prague Pickleball Club (PPC) and Lotus Pickleball- went head-to-head across men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles in a best-of-three, race-to-11 format. Each team featured four men and four women, with one lineup change allowed during the day, keeping strategy and energy levels high from start to finish.
The event delivered everything from strong singles performances to nail-biting doubles battles, with momentum swinging back and forth until the final match. In true MLP fashion, the day culminated in a thrilling deciding mixed doubles showdown that determined the overall result.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with cheers and team spirit throughout. The Derby not only showcased the depth of talent in Prague’s pickleball community but also set the stage for an exciting new local rivalry.
Stay tuned for Prague Pickleball Derby #2, where Team Lotus will look to even the score!
