The first stop of the Prague Pickleball Tour took place yesterday at Jeremi Sport -and what a way to open the season.
Jeremi only recently introduced pickleball on its badminton courts, making this the first tournament ever held at the venue — a clear sign of how quickly the sport is expanding in Prague. The entire top floor of the facility was reserved for the tournament, with 4 playing courts and 3 positioned between them for spectators. The layout allowed for comfortable matches while giving players and fans space to watch, mingle and wait for their matches.
Participation across categories was strong:
– 16 players in Men’s Singles
– 10 teams in Men’s Doubles
– 12 teams in Mixed Doubles
– 6 teams in Women’s Doubles
With matches played to 11 points and a golden point at 10–10, the format delivered plenty of dramatic finishes and high-pressure moments throughout the day.
Winners took home official Tour logo t-shirts, while second and third place finishers received additional prizes. Most importantly, valuable ranking points were earned toward October’s Master finale. As part of the Tour tradition, two lucky players were randomly drawn at the end of the day: Gabby Leova won free entry to the next tournament in any eligible category and Roman Kala won a training session with PPC Coach Rado Petrišin.
A big thanks to the organizers Jan Šesták, Petr Šlajs, and Lukáš Kučera for an impeccable organization and setting the bar high for future tournaments, as well as to Jeremi for their outstanding support that enabled the delivery of a smooth and high-quality event.
The next tournament returns to Jeremi on 28.03 — registration is already open!
