From 23–25 January 2026, the TK Sparta Prague complex hosted the second edition of the World Pickleball Championship (WPC) Prague Czech Open, welcoming 192 players from 18 countries to Prague for three days of high-level international pickleball. As part of the WPC international circuit, the event further established Prague as a key stop on the European pickleball calendar.
This year’s tournament welcomed over 50 more players than the inaugural 2025 edition, reflecting the continued growth of both the event and the sport across the region. The tournament was officially opened by Patrik Nacher, 1st Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, helping raise pickleball’s profile with the media and wider public.
With a broad range of skill and age divisions, the tournament offered competitive opportunities at every level while creating valuable connections between Czech-based players and the wider international pickleball community.
The elite categories competed for a €2,300 prize pool, attracting a strong field of players from across Europe and beyond. The presence of European Pickleball Federation referees further elevated the event, giving many local players their first experience of fully refereed, international-standard matches.
The PPC had a strong on-court presence, with club players competing across divisions and medaling in over 14 categories, underlining the growing competitiveness of our club. A special shout out to PPC members Dita Daňhelková & Lenka Morgan who not only competed and medaled, but also oversaw the smooth running of the entire event!
The second edition of the WPC Prague Czech Open confirmed the event as a well-established, professionally run international tournament and an important milestone for the continued growth of pickleball in the Czech Republic.
